Nick has been 1st class to deal with a-to-z. The big CAT filter head and filter mounted on the Nicktane bracket before the factory filter (pre-OEM filter) has proven to provide the best filtration test results for a single add-on filter – period - bar none!
Moreover, in contrast to the big filters mounted after the factory filter, (post OEM filter), the big pre-OEM Nicktane CAT filter does not entail the added expense and worry about lift pumps and check valves and frequent priming. These extra parts are needed by many who have installed large size add-on filters after the factory filter (post-OEM filter) to prevent random stalling problems.
Since my wife uses the truck with my 4.5 year old boy, I could not afford to risk the random stalling experienced by the users of other add-on big filter kits. Since installing the Nicktane kit, I and my wife have traveled over 1,000 miles of silky smooth operation - not even a hiccup!
Finally, by mounting the Nicktane CAT kit pre-OEM, upstream and before the factory filter, this eliminates the issues of fuel system contamination that could occur during the installation and the changing of post-OEM filters further upstream than the factory filter.
Consequently, the Nicktane CAT is unlikely to cause fuel system warranty issues because the fuel system always remains protected by the OEM factory filter downstream of the Nicktane CAT. In short installing and changing the filter on the Nicktane kit does not require breaching the integrity of the fuel system between the factory filter and the pump and injectors that it was installed to protect.
After 1,000 miles of silky smooth operation, I am completely satisfied that my truck is running with the best, most reliable fuel filtration available to protect it’s high pressure injection system from the sand blasting effect of particulate matter in the fuel.
